Remembering 9/11: Top Two Tribute Videos

We all remember where we were the morning of September 11th. I was only 13. Being on the West Coast, we hadn’t made it out the door quite yet. In fact, I had just rolled out of bed and had stumbled into the bathroom to brush my teeth and start the day.

My mother’s voice caught my attention, specifically her tone. Toothbrush still in hand, I walked out into the living room immediately awake and saw her staring at the TV screen. Footage of a smoking tower and massive flames filled the screen; the second plane had just slammed into the second tower.

That day set our country down a path, determined to defend freedom and crush terrorism. As a nation, it tested our limits and brought us closer together. Succinctly, it changed our lives forever.

President Bush’s speech following the attacks captures the American spirit best:

Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve.

America was targeted for attack because we’re the brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity in the world. And no one will keep that light from shining.

In remembrance of that solemn day, here are two amazing tribute videos.

God Bless.
