Glazed Pecans

With the holidays right around the corner, it’s always a good idea to have a quick and easy recipe on hand. This recipe is one of my favorites for several reasons:

  1. Sweet (and salty) snack
  2. Great as a garnish for desserts
  3. Holiday or party appetizer

Not only is it delicious, it’s also a snap to throw together in a pinch.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp. light brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp. maple sugar
  • pinch of salt (to taste)
  • 1 1/2 cups pecan halves

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper (for easy cleanup!)
  2. Place butter in a large skillet and melt over medium heat. Add brown sugar, maple syrup and salt (if using) and stir into melted butter. Continue cooking, stirring constantly, until mixture is bubbly
  3. Add pecans and continue cooking for 3 to 4 minutes; stir constantly
  4. Transfer pecans to prepared baking sheet ensuring that you spread evenly. Bake 6 to 8 minutes or until pecans are golden brown photo 1
  5. Cool completely on pan. Once cool, transfer to an airtight container to store. Pecans can be stored at room temperature for up to 2 weeks  or in the freezer for up to 3 months photo 2
